Since opening in 2001, Ocean Pointe Business Centre (OPBC) has been providing serviced offices, a business lounge, conference facilities and administrative services to local companies on the Semiahmoo Peninsula. In 2012, Katherine De Vita acquired the business and has been operating it along with Susan Laurio, Office Manager ever since.
Through the many years, OPBC has had the privilege of being a professional support to over 300 local and internationally - based companies, ranging from new start-ups to established firms.
All-business, but with a boutique feel, OPBC has been offering companies full-time furnished office space, supportive administrative services, as well as the ever-popular Virtual Office structure, which has been so well received during the COVID–19 pandemic. Businesses can continue to operate in a safe, clean, socially respectful environment.
Clients operating through the Centre include industry professionals such as Lawyers, Mortgage and Financial Brokers, Engineers, Wealth Management / Financial Advisors, Health and Wellness Practitioners, Psychologists, Energy and Sustainability Directors, Immigration Consultants, Accountants, Radio and Television Executives, as well as many others.
OPBC is centrally and strategically located and borders the southern-most tip of South Surrey and beautiful White Rock. It is a short walking distance to any one of the Big Five Banks of Canada, making it a business hub, within a relaxed community. The location is second to none with its collection of eateries, coffee shops, grocery stores and central shopping mall, not to mention its on the convenient transit route. Even White Rock Beach is easily accessible within minutes.
In 2019, due to growing demand for space, OPBC expanded onto the second floor of its A-class building, adding larger offices to its inventory, as well as acquiring a beautiful outdoor Terrace.
This newest addition aptly called ‘The Terrace at Ocean Pointe’, has been well-used, and provides clients with an extra measure of safety for meetings and gatherings. The health and wellness of clients are of utmost importance.
In fact, services and facilities are continuously being reviewed and customized to better suit clients’ changing business needs. This is a community within a community, and OPBC is learning and growing along with the businesses it supports.

Bringing her multi-faceted background in Business, Hospitality, Career Development and Psychology, Katherine stepped into her new role as owner of OPBC in June 2012. She recognized the value in offering a first-class Business Centre to local professionals who required a space, supports and a professional image to make their own.
Katherine understands the heartbeat of this community.
Her life on the Peninsula began when her family moved from Vancouver to South Surrey where she attended Sunnyside Elementary and graduated from Semiahmoo Senior Secondary. She further obtained her BA in Psychology from UBC. Certified as a Career Development Practitioner and facilitator, as well as Personality Assessment professional, Katherine has always been fascinated by careers and people and their chosen business pathways.
Over the years, she has been owner/operator of four different businesses in the community. Ocean Pointe has been her most rewarding to date as she gets to meet and support business owners from all industries and fields. In 2019, due to a demand for more space, OPBC expanded and obtained 6 larger offices as well as an open outdoor Terrace. Due to COVID, the Terrace has been a welcome addition and has been used regularly by all clients for a relaxing break in their workday, or a sunny, safe place to have lunch and for their overall well-being.
In February 2020, Katherine was honoured by being nominated and shortlisted for the South Surrey / White Rock Chamber of Commerce ‘Business Leader of the Year’.
With over 20 years’ experience as a Business Office Professional, Susan Laurio demonstrates extensive organizational skills, excellent administrative abilities and a solid client-centered mentality.
Susan’s past work experience includes working in the Civil Registry, government agencies, bookkeeping for private firms and as a facilitator and administrative assistant in post-secondary institutions. Her credentials include Certification as a Payroll Supervisor.
Susan has a solid knowledge of MS Office, Quickbooks and general bookkeeping systems. She has developed excellent computer technical skills, has excellent social media marketing abilities and is the ‘go-to’ person at Ocean Pointe Business Centre. Currently, she manages 24 offices and more than 60 virtual clients since 2012.”
